House Dance ist eine Tanzrichtung, die in den USA in den 1980er Jahren entstanden ist und meist von elektronischer Musik begleitet wird. Die Rede ist von „House“, da diese Musik das erste Mal im Club „WareHOUSE“ in Chicago aufgelegt wurde.
Dieser Tanzstil ist vor allem durch rhythmisch komplexe Schrittkombinationen (Footworks) und fließende Bewegungen des Oberkörpers gekennzeichnet. Gelegentlich findet auch Bodenarbeit Einklang in den Tanz. House Dance ist ein Social Dance, d.h. meist werden die "Moves" und "Grooves" untereinander im Rahmen einer Jam Session oder einer Party geteilt. Das Motto ist „Spaß haben, Musik fühlen und den Rhythmus und die Beats in Bewegungen verwandeln.“
Getanzt wird auf Elektromusik - man stelle sich einen 4/4-Takt und ein Tempo von 110 bis 130 Beats per minute vor. Alle, die gern zu Elektromusik "feiern" gehen, dazu tanzen wollen oder etwas Neues aufprobieren möchten, sind hier genau richtig! Es ist egal, ob du noch nie etwas von House Dance gehört hast oder, ob der eigene Tanzstil weiterentwickelt werden soll - alle sind herzlich willkommen!
